The Going Solo Concept

There are two Michelle Pontos. The other one is much younger than me and married to my brother.  They are living happily ever after in Edmonton, but their marriage almost didn't get a chance to begin.

My sister-in-law has an unusual blood disease and in 2007, she collapsed and had her liver, stomach, pancreas, small bowel and duodenum replaced. It was a scary time and one that made me realize that we don't know how long we have.  We need to live our lives now.  Instead of waiting for things to happen, we need "make" things happen - and you can't always be waiting around for someone to go with you.

Since then, I've not only changed my career, where I live and how I look, I've also been able to cross some big goals off my bucket list. A few of these include: being nominated for an Emmy Award, working as a trip historian for surgical mission trip in Guatemala and Haiti, cycling across Ireland and becoming a bikini athlete in a NPC Show in my 40s.

It doesn't matter if you go solo like me or go with a friend.  Each person has their own dreams and their own road to follow. All that matters is that you do follow it.
