About Michelle Ponto

Michelle Ponto is a writer and journalist who not only enjoys life on her own, but has made a career of it. In the last five years, she has lived in five different cities across the U.S. where she has ventured out on her own to make friends, gather contacts and embrace her new surroundings. Her love of checking out the happenings of each city took her to Houston where she became KHOU’s Girl About Town. In this role, she covered everything from restaurants and bars, to concerts, adventure sports and local events.

In addition to being the Girl About Town, Michelle Ponto has written for a number of magazines and media companies, including Discovery Channel, The New York Times, CBS News, ABC News, Advantage Steel Magazine, Motley Fool and Harlequin.

Over the years, she has interviewed people from all walks of life including award-winning chefs and sports heroes, to doctors and celebrities like Beyonce and Gloria Gaynor. Her work has been published in Canada, the United States, Germany and Great Britain. She is also the co-writer of a fitness book called “Buff Dad” that came out in 2008.

Michelle Ponto is an accomplished writer and journalist. She was nominated for an Emmy for her work at News10 in Sacramento and has been the keynote speaker for many organizations. She has also appeared as a guest on numerous news shows including Breakfast Television in Toronto, Sacramento and Company and Fox’s Morning Blend in Cape Coral.

Michelle has gotten so many requests from people wanting to join her on her adventures that she's now started to offer trips where you can come with her  -- while she takes you outside your comfort zone.  She also puts together custom retreats for small groups who want to experience something new together.
